The Black Stars of Ghana failed to post a win over their Ugandan counterparts in their 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Tamale Sports Stadium Friday afternoon as both side settled for goalless game.
The Cranes, who came with a well rehearsed pattern, frustrated the pattern of the Stars game, especially as the pitch looked to be in a very terrible state.
Captain and goalkeeper for the Ugandans, Denis Onyango was in supreme form throughout the game where he manned his area with such aplomb.
Ex-Kotoko defender Joseph Ochaya and Moses Oloya were also in blistering form as they held the Black Stars to a pulsating draw.
The brightest chance of the game fell to Jordan Ayew whose connection of Harrison Afful’s cross failed to hit the target.
Emmanuel Agyeman Badu, who came in to replace Afriyie Acquah also got a gracious opportunity in the dying embers of the game but his shot was blocked by Isaac Isinde.
Below are the players who featured for the Black Stars:
Razak Brimah
Harrison Afful
Abdul Baba Rahman
John Boye
Daniel Amartey
Mubarak Wakaso
Afriyie Acquah/ Emmanuel Agyeman Badu
Frank Acheampong/Jeffery Schlupp
Asamoah Gyan
Jordan Ayew
Christian Atsu/ Majeed Warris
