A Mobile Money vendor was on Tuesday afternoon shot at Bomso in the Oforikrom Constituency of the Ashanti Region following an attempt rob him.
An eyewitness who narrated the incident to Abusua News said, the AK47 wielding armed robbers stormed the community in broad daylight and started firing gunshots.
According to her, the people of Bomso station including two police officers took to their heels as soon as the armed robbers started firing.
The notorious robbers according to another eyewitness shot a mobile money vendor and took away an undisclosed amount.
”As at the time I was leaving the scene, the robbers were still firing gunshots while the two police officers were hiding to protect their lives. The Police should have done better to arrest or equally shoot the robbers but they allowed them to attack and rob those who were around” she said.
Some residents who spoke to Abusua FM News expressed shock as to how the Armed Robbers managed to carry out the dastardly act in such a busy area in the full glare of passers-by.
However, Assembly Man for the Ayigya Electoral Area, Williams Kwabena Boateng widely known as Agenda disclosed that the mobile money vendor who was shot by the armed robbers was immediately rushed to the KNUST hospital and currently receiving treatment.
