The Majority is power intoxicated; wants to treat us like kids – Suhuyini

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North Constituency, Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has described the conduct of the Majority in Parliament as power intoxicated who want to treat their colleagues on the other side as though they are school children.
“It should not get to a point where we will all have to get the services of foul language on the floor and off the floor of parliament. One would have thought that the majority that should be concerned about the smooth running of government business, will be more mindful of building bridges and accommodating descent”, he disclosed on Joy FM
According to him, the majority is intolerant and is beginning to use a headmaster-student approach in going about government business in the house; a move he said does not augur well for the democracy of the country.
Responding to claims by the Majority Leader, Hon Kyei Mensa Bonsu that Parliament will not listen to any “cock and bull story” from the Minority side of the House, he said this was nothing short but an affront to democracy.
“The world over, we know the Majority will always have their way and the Minority their say but in our case, they are even refusing to allow us to have our say. The majority led by their leader tend to think they are school headmasters in a school with students. That disrespect and intolerance will not help government business and the earlier they check themselves the better”, he cautioned.
