Major Rtd. Boakye Gyan Blasts Rawlings

National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart, Major Osahene Boakye Gyan (rtd) has launched a scathing attack on former President Jerry John Rawlings claiming he has nothing better to offer the good people of the party and that he should keep mute.
According to Major (retired) Boakye Gyan if Mr. Rawlings has any advice for the NDC, he should direct it to her wife’s Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings Party the National Democratic [NDP] to win election and stop bragging his failure to campaign for the erstwhile Mahama administration caused their disgraceful defeat in the 2016 polls.
Though former President Jerry John Rawlings is credited to be the founding father of the NDC, others within the party have claimed to be the founder of party as well.
The former Head of Government and Official Spokesperson of the erstwhile Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) said he partnered Mr Rawlings to form NDC and that he is a father of the longest political party in the country.
His comment comes hours after the former President had said that he won’t sit and watch his party go into the abyss while addressing cadres and NDC activists at a Town Hall meeting at the Arts Centre one Accra.
Speaking with host of Abusua Nkommo Kwame Adinkra, the Retired Major who has not been openly involved in activities of NDC said he saved Rawlings from being killed and that if there’s anyone to be called the father of NDC it should be him but not the former President.
”I don’t really know what is wrong with Mr. Rawlings what does he want your wife has got a political party sitting in your house so if you think it is easy to manage a political party why don’t you manage it into power” I’m shocked he’s saying he shed his blood for NDC and that he’s ready to help revive Party’s fortunes.
”He should not talk rubbish like that and I am telling him as a father of the party if we are talking about someone who has really suffered for the party it should be me not Rawlings If not me he wouldn’t been alive now to talk about blood he’s claiming to have shed for the party”.
He however urged Ghanaians and sympathizers of the opposition National Democratic Congress to ignore Mr. Rawlings and focus on rebuilding the party since there better things to be done in their quest to regain power in 2020.
