NPP guru Arthur Kennedy lashes out at police over Koku Anyidoho arrest

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Kobina Arthur Kennedy has waded into the arrest of Koku Anyidoho following his ‘treasonable’ statements against President Nana Akufo-Addo.
On Monday, March 26, Koku Anyidoho during an interview on Happy FM stated that, president Nana Addo will be overthrown through a coup d’état just like K.A Busia and his father.
The loud-mouth General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was picked up at the Accra International Press Center by plain-clothed officers. The NDC was having a press conference to react to the controversial Ghana-US Military Cooperation agreement when the arrest was done.
However, during an interview with Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the same platform, Dr. Arthur Kennedy says he’s not impressed by the manner in which the police handled the situation insisting that they could have acted professionally during his arrest.
“Ghanaian security must be professional, records shows they are not,” he said.
“The security agencies are manipulating our system to their benefit. Although Koku’s statement is nonsense, I believe it could have been better dealt with,” he asserted.
“Politicians must be careful. Sometime ago Rawlings called for revolution and we know some of the other nasty things he has said, what happened? Our security agencies must be careful,” he warned.
“It is a threat to our security, you could ask Koku to explain the motive behind his claims. When NDC was in power, other politicians said worse, so handling of Koku’s issues must be professional.”
Mr. Kennedy also advised the giants in the political game to apply professionalism when speaking on the airwaves.
“I will never make such utterances, for me I am objective and consistence so if anyone makes such comments I will condemn it like I did to Kennedy Agyapong,” he indicated.
