GPL Match Day 7 wrap up: Medeama maintain momentum at the top as Hearts, Kotoko suffer defeat

Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko drop points in week 7 in their respective Ghana Premier League matches played over the weekend.
The Phobians lost at home to Elmina Sharks by 1-2 at the Cape Coast Stadium making two defeats at home this season.
Goals from Felix Addo and Daniel Obeng won the match for Sharks whilst Malik Akowuah got a consolation for the phobians.
This is the second time the Phobians have lost a game at home this season. First losing to AshantiGold by 1-3 and to Sharks by 1-2 over the weekend.
Hearts of Oak Coach, Henry Wellington claimed responsibility for the team’s defeat to Sharks. He has lost two games in a row against Sharks that is in a pre-season friendly and in the league.
Hearts lies sixth on the league log with 10 points.
Elmina Sharks have moved up to the third position on the league log with 11 points after this win.
Elsewhere at the Theater of Dreams in Dawu, Asante Kotoko lost to Dreams FC on match day 7.
The first half ended goalless with both team squandering a lot of chances. Dreams FC took the lead in the dying minutes of the game through George Dwubeng, who secured the victory for the Still believe club at their own backyard.
Dreams FC have accrued seven points and are lying seventh on the league log after this win. Asante Kotoko have dropped to the seventh position on the league log with 10 points after this defeat.
Medeama’s win over Inter Allies in week seven has seen them move up to the second position on the league log with 13 points.  Joseph Tetteh Zuta was the goal scorer for Medeama in that fixture which ended 1-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium as Medeama had agreed to shift their home game to that venue due to television coverage.
League Leaders AshantiGold had their game postpone due to Aduana Stars engagement in Africa club competition
