Aduana Stars coach Yusif Abubakar content with CAF Confederation Cup draw

Aduana Stars Coach Yusif Abubakar says he is delighted with the draw for the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup despite finding themselves in the group of death.
The Fire Boys have been drawn alongside Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas, Moroccan side Raja Casablanca and Congolese side AS Vita in group A of CAF’s second tier club competition.
The Ghanaian champions are considered underdogs in the group following the experience of their opponents on the continent.
But Coach Abubabkar insists he is not perturbed to be in group with some of the biggest clubs on the continent.
“All the sixteen clubs in the group are tough and I do not see any particular team being bigger than others, if you look at modern day football, you do not underrate any country or any club again,” Abubakar told Happy FM.
“So as we having reached this stage, I am not scared because we believe in ourselves that we can fight that’s why we have been grouped there, therefore if they say we are in the group of death that means Aduana Stars have been rated as one of the biggest club in Africa if not they wouldn’t have called it the “group of death.”
He added, “The group will make Aduana popular in Africa and every player have to be ready both psychologically and mentally to show that you can also withstand the so-called big clubs on the continent.”
“So it’s going to be a big challenge and I’m happy some people have labeled it as the group of death, maybe those clubs mentioned will see Aduana as underdogs and that is where we will let them know everything is going to be 90 minutes on the field.”
Aduana will kick-start their campaign against West African rivals ASEC Mimosas on May 6, 2018, before playing against AS Vita and Raja Casablanca in that order.
