Western Regional Football Association Chairman, Kojo Yankah has disclosed that George Afriyie threatened to boot most of them out of office if he becomes president of the Ghana Football Association.
Kwesi Nyantakyi declared his intentions on several platforms last year that, he will not seek for re-election when his tenure when his tenure in office expires in 2019.
The nation’s football governing body vice, George Afriyie made a bold statement during his 50th anniversary at the Mensvic Hotel that he will contest for the hot seat in 2019.
Executive Committee members of the Ghana FA are urging the CAF 1st vice to change his mind and contest for the position after they became aware of the Liberty Professional director’s intention to contest for the position.
Speaking to Ohene Bampoe Brenya on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Kojo Yankah made a shocking revelation that Mr Afriyie became their enemy after he threatened to sack most of the staff members of the FA if he ever achieves his aim of ascending to the Ghana FA’s throne.
“George Afriyie called some GFA officials and staff for a private meeting without informing the president, Kwesi Nyantakyi,” Yankah told Happy FM.
“He threatened to sack most of the staffs should he becomes the GFA president.”
“George Afriyie lied, by saying he informed Kwesi Nyantakyi about his intention to contest for the GFA presidency. He didn’t tell president.”
