AUDIO: “George Afriyie begs me to keep silent” – Kojo Yankah

Western Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairman, Kojo Yankah says the sacked vice president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie is begging him to keep his name out of his utterances when speaking to the media.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo sports show on Wendesday, Mr Yankah revealed that George Afriyie called highly regarded football personalities to plead him. ”George Afriyie have asked people to beg me to cease fire in other words, to stop talking about him in the media landscape.”
It can be recalled that the outspoken Yankah made a revelation on the same radio station last week, that the Liberty Professionals Director summoned some of the association staff in a meeting without president Nyantakyi’s knowledge.
The dismissed FA vice president later launched an attack on Mr Yankah at the forecourt of the FA secretariat daring him to mentions the names of said staffs he has alleged would be sacked if he becomes the FA president.
However, Mr Yankah still insists that such meeting took place in secrecy without the knowledge of his boss.
“I have been cautioned and I’ve been asked not mention names of those present at the meeting just to protect their jobs. I still stand by my words that George Afriyie called that meeting”
According to him, he did not want to engage Afryie in any form of conflict, that’s why he did not retaliate when was approached by the former FA Vice President in a hostility manner.
“I didn’t want any form of confrontation with George Afriyie that was why I didn’t mind him when he confronted me at the GFA days ago.”
