Zylofon did not apologise to me but…. – Rex Omar

Ghanaian Highlife legend Rex Owusu Marfo known in the showbiz circles as Rex Omar has stated in an interview that management of Rapper Obibini, Zylofon Media has not called to apologies to him for the use of lyrics from his song ‘Wo Dea Ne Me’ on Obibini’s latest track, “Gogo Woho”.
Rex Omar during an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM‘s Ayekoo After Drive show stated, “To be honest with you I have never set my eyes on Obibini one on one, and I didn’t send the letter to Obibini because he’s just an artiste.”
“I didn’t send the letter to him, I sent a letter to his record label. Whatever Obibini did he’s under a record label, so whatever the situation is, you have to see the record label.”
The veteran Highlife ace indicated all he did was to set a precedent; “What I did was to send a message to the whole country that internationally there’re rules and regulations covering lyrical content and ownership.’’
“Nobody came to apologise to me, it is my own property as you can dash your car to someone, so they called me and I explained to them why I did that hence that was the end of the story.’’
Last month, Rex Omar threatened to sue Zylofon Media act Obibini for $1million for sampling one of his songs and using it in a new track.
Rex Omar is currently promoting his new single Nhyira which features Trigmatic.
