NDC 2020: Mahama's best for NDC will be run-off – Dr Samuel Adu Gyamfi predicts

A political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr Samuel Adu Gyamfi has stated that former President John Mahama will be a good candidate for the National Democratic Congress but the best he can do to help is to take them to run-off in the 2020 general elections.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben Show Dr. Gyamfi said, “Mahama will beat all the NDC flagbearer aspirants but the best from Mahama will be a run-off in the 2020 elections. He can never win but will be a tough candidate for President Nana Addo but he can’t win the 2020 general elections.”
Dr. Gyamfi’s analysis come on the back of the former President decision to respond to calls by some party members for him to declare to once again run for the party’s flagbearership.
Mr Mahama wrote on his Facebook wall: “To you the teeming supporters and sympathizers calling and requesting me to declare my intentions for the future, I wish to assure you today, that as a servant-leader, I have listened to your calls and reflected. I will not disappoint you even as we await the publication of the party’s guidelines for selecting a new leader.”
This is the clearest indication by Mr Mahama that he would try to lead Ghana again in the 2020 general elections. This what Dr. Gyamfi describe as unrealistic vision for 2020 but will be genuine for 2024 general election.
