AshantiGold clarify CK Akunnor's stance on Saddick Adams' signing

Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold SC Frederick Acheampong has lifted the lid on reasons behind coach Charles Akunnor’s public outcry over Saddick Adams’ signing.
The 28-year-old was one of two players placed on transfer by Asante Kotoko for non-performance.
The powerful hitman requested for his contract to be terminated but the club’s management rejected his request.
On Friday, the Reds confirmed on their Twitter handle that they have transferred the player to regional rivals AshantiGold.
Speaking on Kumasi-based radio station, Nhyira FM, Coach Charles Akunnor denied any knowledge of the striker’s deal and stated categorically that he only requested for defender Eric Donkor – who himself was deemed surplus to requirements by the Kumasi-based side.
But responding to Coach Akunnor’s claim, Mr Acheampong expatiated on the confusion that seemingly brimming in the camp of the Miners.
“To be honest with our fans, I spoke to CK Akunnor yesterday and he was genuine with me. He knows Sadick Adams is a player AshantiGold wanted because he said we should get him a good striker but as at time we concluded the deal, he was apparently not aware. Our president signed the deal and he duly informed the technical director, which I believe he should have communicated with CK about it because they work hand-in-hand,” he added.
“So it’s the duty of the technical director to inform the coach and I think as at the time CK granted the interview, he wasn’t informed and he thought it was just radio talk which he has been going on for a while but it’s not something serious which will bring confusion in the team…far from that and I wish you will call CK and he will testify to it,” Acheampong deduced.
