EXCLUSIVE: Ghana names strong starting line-up against Japan

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah a named very strong starting line-up to face Japan in today’s friendly match against Japan at the Nissan Stadium.
The four-time Africa champions will square off against the Blue Samurai as part of their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with the Asian giants also preparing for the World Cup in Russia.
Lumor Agbenyenu will be deployed at left-back to play in the position he plays in the Portuguese Liga NOS for Sporting Lison while newly signed Reading FC defender Andy Yiadom will hold his usual right-back position.
Goalkeeper Richard Ofori was named to the start the match ahead of Lawrence Ati-Zigi who had an inconsistent season at French second-tier side Sochaux Montbilliard.
The central defensive pair of Rashid Sumaila and Nicholas Opoku while Joseph Attamah Lawerh will partner Isaac Sackey at the heart of the midfield in an apparent attempt to give a good shield to the untested defensive pair as Thomas Partey will be shifted just behind the striker as an orthodox number 10.
Frank Acheampong and Nana Opoku Ampomah will play at the right and left wings respectively as they are expected to provide services to UD Levante sharp shooter Emmanuel Boateng.
