"Blame democracy for what is happening" – Ambolley comments on Anas #Number12 exposé

Legendary musician, songwriter, producer, and composer, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has added up his voice to the Anas Number 12 exposé.
Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has conducted a thorough investigation into the Ghana football. The findings of this highly anticipated piece has left the entire country in a state of shock and disappointment.
The documentary exposed the corruption in Ghana sports, especially the Ghana Football Association where top officials and referees were caught taking money – including some collecting as little as GH¢200 ($42) – to influence match results in the domestic league as well as push players into national teams.
During an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM‘s Ayekoo After Drive Show, the ‘Abrantsie‘ hitmaker said, “I didn’t get the opportunity to watch the full video but I’ve watched few excerpts of it.”
“What Anas is doing is very good and we need more of Anas in Ghana. Indiscipline has become too much in the country, indiscipline is the order of the day. There are people in the country that God has gifted us with, so if you are given any position in the country then you have to handle it well.”
“When that happens, then we have to check, but if there are no checks and balancing then it means each man for himself God for us all,” he said.
“We should know the way to go so that food and shelter will get to everyone. If some people are taking these moves to get more whiles others do not get it any, then there is something wrong. Due to something called democracy people misbehave and still go free.”
“If you are on this earth and you are given a position you need to handle it well, I mean what at all do we need riches for.”
“We are struggling for worldly things too much. God says we shouldn’t steal but some people are filling their pockets, and then after, they will go to church thinking they are fooling God. Where are we even taking them to,” he asked.
“We are using the short life span given to us by God to struggle for worldly things. This breeds indiscipline.”
Gyedu-Blay Ambolley is the first musician from Ghana to formally incorporate rap forms into local highlife rhythms, Ambolley created the musical genre Simigwa.
