It was a sad moment at Chiraa in the Brong Ahafo region when a tipper truck drove into a popular roadside food joint, killing four persons including a pregnant woman, instantly.
According to an eyewitness report, the incident happened Thursday at about 2:30 pm.
The eyewitness said the deceased were standing on the shoulder of the Chiraa main road to buy Kenkey, when the truck with registration number GW 395-14 ran over and killed them instantly.
“In the process, the foetus of the pregnant woman gushed out, a bystander, who could not control her tears narrated,” the report said.
Three others who sustained various degrees of injury are on admission at the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani.
The severed bodies of the deceased who are yet to be identified have been deposited at the Regional Hospital mortuary.
The driver of the tipper truck has since been placed in police custody to assist the police investigation.
