People doing the same genre of music tend to have role models who do the same things they do, but that is not the case for Highlife budding musician Kurl Songx. According to him, dancehall legend Samini tops his list of favourite musicians.
Speaking to DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s Ayekoo after drive show about musicians who influenced his style of singing, he said, “I love Kojo Antwi, I love Daddy Lumba, I love Kwabena Kwabena, I love Samini, Samini is everything. So most of the time when I do live band performances, I sing his songs a lot, I sing his songs more than any other musician, because growing up I loved him a lot and Kwabena Kwabena too, as well as Akwaboah.”
“I will be doing something with Samini soon, it will come out very soon,” he added.
Samini, Daddy Lumba and Kojo Antwi were featured on the just ended Vodafone African Legends Night and they were unstoppable.
