Ace music producer Da’Hammer believes that having expertise in technical engineering is more important than having an ultra modern studio without the know-how to efficiently run it and put the equipment there to it ultimate and complete use.

Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra’ with Doctor Cann, he detailed, “I found out yesterday and it’s very interesting. What we need are professionals, we under-use the equipment in many studios because we don’t have a lot of professionals who know what those equipment can do so most of them under-use the equipment in the studios so what I was hoping for was that we will select a few engineers, when I say engineers I don’t mean producers.

Producers do the creating, they play the songs and play the beats and the likes but the engineers are those who treat the sound, they think in frequency, they are able to position the sound at the right level so if we get about five and have them get advanced training in engineering abroad, then they can come back and be of service to the nation by not charging a fee for about one year or two to serve the musicians.

So when you finish with your song, you send it there to mixed and mastered, that is far better.

“With an ultra modern studio you don’t need much, right now a lot of the equipment are softwares, it is not like before when ultra modern studios required so many things, but right with very little you can still achieve the same results but the professionalism and know-how is more important right now.

“I commend whoever pushed for this but I would have preferred that we send a few selected people who are deep engineers like the real technical engineers then we send them.”

“They should go and update themselves because the capabilities of the equipment are more but we haven’t gone to full scale institute of recording arts or because you haven’t gone to New York State institute of recording arts, you don’t know the full potential of the equipment you are holding so I feel we need the know-how, the know- is very important,” he added.
