MMTL redirects buses to ease Accra transport crunch

MMTL redirects buses to ease Accra transport crunch Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMTL) has reduced some of its intercity bus services to focus on intracity operations in Accra, aiming to ease transport challenges in the capital. This move involves scaling down long-distance routes, such as those to Kumasi and Cape Coast, to allocate more buses to high-demand intracity routes like Adenta, Kasoa, Amasaman, and Nsawam. The decision follows directives from the Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, to support private transport operators during peak hours. MMTL is currently operating with a limited fleet of 115 buses, down from over 1,000 when it started in 2004, but is working to maximize available resources. This initiative aims to boost MMT’s operations, improve service coverage, and reduce congestion pressures in major urban centers. “We are committed to improving transport services in Accra and ensuring that our buses are deployed where they are most needed,” said an MMTL spokesperson. The public is encouraged to take advantage of the enhanced intracity services, and MMTL apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the reduction in intercity services.

Together they made magic but six years after they started the music duo ‘Dobble’, they split up.

Ennwai who used to be a member says he broke up the group because he was unhappy and nothing can bring them back together.

Speaking to DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo’ after drive show, he said, “We were together for six years, I broke the group up because of things that went on in the group I wasn’t happy about.

“Trust me the group was supposed to breakup 3 years earlier than we did due to the way things were going.  People don’t just take actions without reason, but we have decided not to talk about our reasons for breaking up, and we haven’t spoken about it in about two or three years,” he said.

“For about two to three years, Paa Kwasi did things I wasn’t happy about. There’s a limit to what everyone can take.”

“It wasn’t about women or money,” he revealed this when asked if he could not have forgiven and whether it had to do with money or women which is usually the cause of male music group break ups.

Ennwai also stated that Paa Kwasi is indifferent towards him.

“He doesn’t pick my calls, even when his father died I called and he didn’t answer,” he disclosed.

He told DJ Advicer that he will never get back together with Paa Kwasi when he was asked if there is a chance of a comeback, “It can’t happen, nothing will bring the group back. Not even the president of Ghana can bring us back together,” he asserted.
