Former President John Dramani Mahama has joined Ghanaians to mourn the late Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko, who passed away at a hospital in the United States on Wednesday, November 22, 2018 after a short illness.

According to Mahama, he received the news of the demise of the late legislator with great shock.

“I received news of the Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko’s death with great shock last night. The very kind words in the tributes being paid to him, accurately reflect the kind of person he was,” Mahama wrote on his Facebook page.

Mahama also described Mr. Agyarko as a gentleman whose personality is worth emulating across the political spectrum.
“Politics may divide us on ideological lines and during debates and arguments, but Emmanuel Agyarko’s personality and his conduct even in the political space always exemplified the gentleman that he was. Lordina and I join grieving Ghanaians in expressing our condolences to the wife, children, family and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on his loss,” he added.

The late MP had gone to the United States to seek medical care after an undisclosed medical condition was stabilized at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

The late Agyarko left behind a wife and seven children, five of which are quintuplets.
