Midfielder Rabiu Mohammed has suffered a collarbone injury that will rule him out until next season, according Anzhi Makhachkala press officer Sergei Rasulov.

The 28-year-old defensive enforcer has been one of the standout performers despite the Dagestan-based outfit’s underwhelming performance in the ongoing Russian Premier League.

The former Evian Thornon Gilliard’s midfielder will however be sidelined until 2019 after sustaining collarbone injury during the side’s 2-1 win over Yenisey on matchday 13.

Speaking ahead of the club’s Saturday’s clash against Rubin Kazan, Rasulov disclosed that they will be missing the services of the lanky Ghanaian for the rest of the year.

“Ponce and Chancellor have returned from the national teams at the moment, Hamid Agalarov has also returned from the youth team of Russia. They all held the first training session with the team today. They are all right, they all worked in the general group. Dostonbek Khamdanov’s arrival is expected a little later, he has a long flight after the match for the national team of Uzbekistan. With him, too, everything is in order, he played for his team 70 minutes.”

“In general, we have only one injured – this is Rabiu. He has a problem with his collar bone; he was injured in a match against Yenisei. Most likely, we will not see him until the end of the year. He is treated and is not in the location of the team.”

Team situation? It is the same, the team is preparing for the games, no changes,” said Rasulov in an interview with Sport24.ru reporter Ararat Mambreyan.

Rabiu has amassed 11 appearances for the Yellows in the league campaign.
