The police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has declared Nana Appiah Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of the troubled gold dealership company, Menzgold, wanted.

Nana Appiah, also called NAM1, has been out of the country since September last year, following agitations by customers of his firm for a refund of their investments.

Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, Director-General of the CID, Police Headquarters issued the declaration for the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah.

Worried customers of the company, said to have operated illegally while taking investments in ‘gold’ deposits, have been clamouring for the arrest of directors of the company and the immediate return of their investments.

A section of them, numbering about 500, on Tuesday demonstrated in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, to press home their demands for the intervention of authorities to redeem their monies.

Meanwhile multiple warrants have been issued by a circuit court in Accra for the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah and a number of his associates. Graphic Online can confirm warrants for the arrest of Rose Tetteh, said to be wife of Nana Appiah, and his sister, Benedicta Appiah.

They all face charges of defrauding by false pretences.

The CID boss aslo told an Accra based radio station that the INTERPOL may be requested to effect the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah wherever he is, if need be.
