Democracy cause of disrespect to military – Major Derrick Oduro

The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major Derrick Oduro, says the military will move if encroachers on their lands refuse to move.

He made this revelation on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show.

He said, “because of the military’s concern and regard for human lives, we will leave military lands for encroachers rather than put them at risk.”

According to him, lands in and around military bases were commandeered by past governments for the military and are meant for the military purposely for local military exercises.

“Even though these lands may be lying barren, no one has the right to sell them to civilians. But as these lands have now been sold to private developers. The military will rather relocate rather than expose these encroachers to harm.”

This statement was made as a result of the explosion that happened at the Michel camp armory on Wednesday dawn.
