Ayawaso by-election violence: We will sue for injured persons – Mahama
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Former President John Mahama has hinted of moves to sue perpetrators of violence that led to gun shots wounds on some individuals at last week’s by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon in the Greater Accra Region.

He said victims of the violence have suffered a great deal and need to be compensated and culprits have to face the full rigours of the law.

Former President Mahama was speaking at Battor in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region during the final lap of his campaign for the NDC Flagbearership race.

The final lap of Former President John Mahama’s campaign to lead the NDC in the 2020 election saw him touring and interacting with delegates in all the 26 constituencies of the Volta Region. At North Tongu, a mini rally was organised to climax the entire campaign tour.

Former President Mahama urged the rank and file of the NDC to bury their differences and unite towards victory in the 2020 general election.

He criticised some well-known opinion leaders in the country for being hypocrites because they do not speak against negative tendencies under the current government contrary to what they did during his administration.

President Mahama bemoaned the violence which erupted during the by elections at Ayawaso West Wougon saying it is a dent on the country’s democracy.
