Aggrieved customers of gold dealership firm Menzgold are currently in parliament to demonstrate against President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo while he delivers the State of the Nation Address (SONA) 2019.

Menzgold customers launched this demonstration at the premise of the parliament house to continue the push to retrieve their locked-up investments in a business now described as a ‘Ponzi’ scheme.

Meanwhile, Nana Addo in an apparent oblivion to the presence of the demonstrators and mentioned in his address that “the Menzgold debacle is a tragic phenomenon that appears to have occurred in plain sight and affected a lot of people, in spite of warnings from official institutions.”

“As the authorities try to unravel the intricacies of what happened (in the Menzgold saga), I admonish all Ghanaians to learn the necessary lessons for the future, even as State institutions work to bring a resolution to the matter and those who are seen to have indulged in criminal activities are brought to justice,” he added.
