Deputy New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, has assert that the ruling Party [NPP] has what it takes to win 2020 general election without the Electoral Commission (EC) rigging for them.

According to him, elections can be rigged only when National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ruling the country and has the EC under their watch.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, the Deputy Chief scribe said “NPP doesn’t need the help EC by rigging for us to win the 2020 election. We have every thing to at our disposal and based on our good work, we can win the election hands down.”

He added that, “Elections can be rigged but not under the leadership of NPP. NPP as a law abiding political party doesn’t need the help of Jean Mensa or Asare Bossman to win election.”

He made these assertions after former President John Mahama casted doubts over the EC’s ability to conduct neutral general elections in 2020. Mahama also expressed concerns over the lack of transparency and consultation from the commission.

However, the Chairperson of the EC, Mrs. Jean Mensa, has also stated that it is impossible for the commission to rig any election in favour of a political party.
