The leadership of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned the vandalism against the District Chief Executive of Krachi West district, Douglas Osei-Nti.

Some irate supporters of the NPP in the Krachi West Constituency in the Oti Region, on Tuesday stormed the District Assembly office and chased out the District Chief Executive.

The youth after chasing out Douglas Osei-Nti, locked the office and handed over the DCE to the Police.

The NPP supporters are accusing Mr. Osei-Nti of engaging in acts that have made the NPP unpopular in the constituency.

Reacting to the fallout from the matter in an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’, the National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye, said it is unlawful for the irate youth to chase out the DCE and lock his office.

“We condemn it in no uncertain terms. If you have any grievances, we have structures in the party where you can run to with your issues. You can’t disgrace the party in such a manner. I can tell you for a fact that, these are some of the problems the vigilantism Bill will be dealing with. If the Bill had been passed, those involved in these unlawful acts would have been on their way to jail and may be slapped with a minimum of 5year jail time,” he said.
