AFCON 2019: Femi Kuti to perform at the opening ceremony in Cairo

Afro beat Legend and four-time Grammy award nominee Femi Kuti have been announced as one of the three special guest to perform at the AFCON 2019.

The veteran Nigerian Afro singer is going on stage alongside Hakim from Egypt and Dobet Gnahore from Ivory Coast to perform the AFCON official anthem. This is the second time the Veteran is opening a major football competition, In 2010 World Cup Femi Kuti open at the Soccer City Stadiumas well.

The three official guest openers would sing a song titled “Metgamaeen” (We Are Together) produced by Synergy together on stage in Cairo, Egypt. According to the Organizing Committee Nigerian Femi would sing In English, Gnahore will sing in French and Hakimwill do the same in Arabic.

The AFCON 2019 is starting 21st June in Cairo, Egypt. 24 African teams including Nigeriawould complete for the trophy in Egypt.
