Reigning VGMA highlife artiste of the year, Kwami Eugene, has spoken on his love for indigenous highlife music.

Kwami Eugene speaking in an interview with DJ Advicer host of Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo’ after drive show said, “I intentionally shot the video of my song ‘forget’ at the Keneshie market. At my young age I was always dropped off by my mum after school ,she will join two tomato cartoons for me to sleep in .In order to prevent the sun rays from reaching me ,until she close . so all the women in the video were women who played significant roles one way or the other in my life “.

Kwami Eugene also added that the title of the song ‘Forget’ was inspired by how his problems didn’t last but rather he found a ray of hope on the other side .
Kwami Eugene continued to say that there were tears of joy in the eyes of the women who recognised him from child hood till now . He also used the opportunity to admonish the women there that there is hope for them .

He also used his mum as an inspiration for them that if his mum was once with them and is no longer with them in the market then there is hope for everyone .
