Black Stars Management Committee members must resign – Yaw Boateng Gyan

Former Black Stars management committee Chairman, Yaw Boateng Gyan, has called on the current Black Stars management team to do the honorable thing by resigning from their positions as soon as possible.

Ghana was shown the exit from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt by Tunisia on Monday, July 8th after they beat Ghana by 5-4 on penalties at the Ismailia Stadium.

Reviewing the team’s inability to outdo their opponent in the round of 16 stage, Boateng Gyan has called for the head of the management committee members of the national team.

Speaking on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Yaw Boateng Gyan said, the management team must take a cue from Egypt handlers who resigned immediately after they were ousted by Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

” Right after Egypt was evicted from the competition, their Football Federation boss announced his resignation as the President on Saturday night and members of the board of directors have all resigned. They have also sacked their coach and I have even heard they are calling on their sports minister to also step down. If the team arrives in Ghana, they should do the same by resigning as soon as possible,” Boateng Gyan said.

“We must sit up and put things in order and let the president of the republic Nana Addo understand that football is one thing that binds Ghanaians together and immediately you politicize it, it brings division among the people and hence will be tagged as NPP Black Stars. If we don’t take care, in the future we’ll also be building NDC Black Stars. If that happens the nation wouldn’t be behind the team to succeed and we’ll destroy our football,” he added.

“We cannot sit aloof and watch the Kofi Amoah led NC to continue to squander our monies in the country without giving us any results,” Boateng Gyan reiterated.
