The Director of the Centre for Defence and Security, Mr. Yaro Kasambata has mentioned that there is an underlying problem of xenophobic attacks that is likely to rise in Ghana.

Speaking with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on the “Epahoa Daben” show on Happy FM, he said:

“The rise of xenophobia almost occurred in Ghana. It took the intervention of the police. It has not been properly resolved. The concern is still there.”
According to him, the problems concerning trade space and local contents between Ghanaians and Nigerians living in Ghana has not been properly resolved. His statement was in connection with the current xenophobic attacks in South Africa that has sparked reprisal attacks in countries such as Nigeria and Zambia.
