Reports has it that Nigerians in South Africa are making plans to retaliate the xenophobic attacks on Black natives.

According to a Ghanaian living in South Africa, who revealed in an interview on Happy FM, South African police have arrested dozens of the protesters who claim immigrants, especially Nigerians are taking over their jobs and selling illicit drugs.

“The South African police is doing so well to prevent what is going on but some South Africans are making it impossible for them to do their work. The Nigerians are arming themselves to fight back,” he told DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s Aryekoo After Drive Show.

He also revealed that Separatism in South Africa is one of the main factors making the attacks on foreign nationals easy .”Segregation in South Africa where citizens stay in particular areas and foreigners in another making it easier for the Xenophobic attacks to be coordinated and targeted.”

However, Nigerians have also taken to the streets of Lagos, Nigeria to protest the attacks on their brothers and sisters in South Africa.

The angry protesters attacked South African business Shoprite with stones and destruction of property around the retailer since they were unable to access its building.

Ghana’s former President, John Mahama, has blamed the South African government for the latest xenophobic attacks.

Describing the attacks as heartless in a tweet on Wednesday, Mahama asked the South African government to assume responsibility for “these inhuman actions and implement urgent steps to prevent these attacks from recurring in the future.”
