Host of Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, Kwame Afrifa-Mensah has rubbished claims made by Highlife musician, Abrantie Amakye Dede against Ghana’s Ambassador to China, H.E Edward Boateng.

Afrifa-Mensah found it atrocious for Amakye Dede to make such claims especially when he [Amakye Dede] admitted that he was offered USD4000.00 for no work done. The host of Happy FM afternoon political show also found it shocking that Amakye Dede did not admit to receiving the USD 4000 compensation on the show in the interview.

Afrifa-Mensah questioned, “Why did Amakye Dede cancel his US tour based on a call from his management when there was no contract, and discussion was on going? Was that professional?”

He furthered asked if there was any written agreement or contract between he [Amakye Dede] and the Ambassador? Amakye should be questioning his management team. According to Afrifa Mensah, Amakye has no basis and should not be tarnishing the image of H.E Edward Boateng a man who has worked so hard to support the music industry by creating a platform such as the African Legends Night; A show which Amakye himself has performed on three  occasions with Hugh Masakela, Femi Kuti and Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

The outspoken radio presenter, who was outraged about the comments made by the Veteran Highlife musician, quizzed, “why is he (Amakye) talking about it now when this event happened over year ago, what is Amakye’s motive?”
