The Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the Ashanti Region, Abass Nurudeen has described President Akufo-Addo’s tour of the region last week as a waste of state resources.

Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben Show, Abass said the president’s visit was worthless because it never impacted the lives of the individuals positively.

“Our president only came to move around with about 70 V8s just to show opulence…Even the ongoing projects he said he had gone to inspect were needless. Those inspections could have been done by Assembly members or Unit Committee Members. He [Akufo-Addo] has nothing to show Ashantis,”Abass said.

He further opined that “ the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is deceiving Ghanaians in the Ashanti Region.”

Nana Addo was on a 3-day tour to the Ashanti region. As part of his tour, the president inspected the construction of roads and also cuts sod for new ones.
