2019 President Cup: Hearts, Kotoko to battle for title on Dec 15

The 2019 President Cup between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will be replayed on 15 December, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has announced.

The first game was earlier on rained off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on September 8.

Referee Bernard Dumfeh called off the game after 10 minutes after movement of the ball on the pitch had become difficult

Both parties after a meeting have agreed to replay the match to honor the President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The game will now be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on 15 December, 2019.

In an interview on Wamputu Sports on Happy FM, Spokesperson for the Committee organizing the game, Patrick Akoto stated that the game will be played to honour the President Nana Akufo-Addo.

He also indicated that, all parties have agreed to the new date and to be played at the Accra Sport Stadium.

Hearts and Kotoko have started preparations ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season which kicks off on the weekend of 27-29 December, 2019.

The President Cup will serve as a curtain raiser for the commencement of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

GHALCA’s press release added that the association had formed an 8-member committee to oversee the match. Vice-chairman, Alex Akumey, would head the committee with George Ofosuhene and John Ansah as other members.

Edmund Ackah and Nana Kwame Dankwah will represent Kotoko while Alhaji Akambi and Charles Kwarteng will represent Hearts of Oak.
