Black Stars goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has joined Danish Superliga side Brondby on a four-year deal from Norwegian side Rosenborg. The deal was announced on Monday by Brondby on its website.
The club stated that the acquisition was to bring more quality to their team and give their regular goalkeeper Frederick Rannow competition. Kwarasey played 9 matches for Rosenborg in the 2016 Norwegian league before making the switch.
He also played for Stromgodset and Portland Timbers. On his part, Kwarasey said to Brondby’s official website that he had no qualms making the move from Norway to Denmark. He also said he was ready to compete for a regular place in the team. “It feels right and I’m happy to come to Denmark’s biggest club. I am excited and ready to get started. I grew up in Norway, so Brondby is not unknown to me. It is the club in Denmark with the best fans. They create an atmosphere at the stadium, which is unsurpassed in Denmark, and it is really exciting to be a part of the whole atmosphere that’s around Brondby.”
“Rønnow is an accomplished keeper but it’s great to work with other talented goalkeepers and coaches. It helps to lift us both, and I’m sure the club has a good plan for us. I have to show in training that I am ready when the chance comes. I’ve been playing professionally for many years, so I know the game.” Brondby will take their players through physical examination before training starts on Thursday.
