Ghana’s Ambassador to China, H.E Edward Boateng has said that there has not been any recorded case of the Coronavirus involving a Ghanaian.

He was speaking in an interview with Happy FM’s Afrifa Mensah on the Epa Hoa Daben Show when he said: So far, no Ghanaian has contracted the virus. Ghanaians are following instructions and staying in their homes”.

According to him, the Chinese authority have been very effective in terms of information. Thus, the Ghanaian community in China are very well informed on the new virus and measures are being taken to ensure that Ghanaians are not infected.

He, however, noted that the only major problem was that there were about two hundred and eighty (280) students in the province of Wuhan the province where the new virus is concentrated.

He was confident that this new virus will be successfully dealt with such as how diseases such as Ebola have been dealt with in the past.

The coronavirus is a respiratory disease affecting people and animals in China, claiming the lives of a few.
