Ghana’s Ambassador to China, H.E Edward Boateng has cautioned the Ghanaian media to be wary of the reportage they give on the coronavirus outbreak in China which he says is causing fear and panic.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, he stated: “ We have the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the Office of the President The media should go to these right sources of information and not scare people. I don’t think it is important to scare people or put out information you are not sure of. We, at the Ghanaian embassy are happy to answer questions”.

Mr. Edward Boateng was confident that the Coronavirus outbreak in China will quickly be dealt with before it causes any havoc. According to him, the Chinese authorities have informed him that even though the disease is contagious, it does not kill easily.

He, thus, encouraged all Ghanaians to remain calm as the Ghana Government works with the Chinese authorities to ensure that no Ghanaian is affected by this virus.

The Coronavirus is a respiratory disease affecting people and animals in China, claiming the lives of a few.
