Ghana and Red Star Belgrade striker, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has advised Ghanaians to adhere to safety measures given out by government and health officials as the country battles the coronavirus pandemic.

Ghana has recorded 27 cases with two people confirmed dead.

All public gathering including football related activities have also been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Ghana Football Association has directed all football clubs to suspend training until further notice.

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has also put all of its competitions on hold with the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which was scheduled to come off this weekend postponed indefinitely.

“The League has been suspended due to the outbreak, he told Happyghana.com

“I have been indoors for more than a week and just watching movies and playing video games. The team has given us a program to work with whilst we stay at home.

“I miss game already and I wish this coronavirus will end so we go back on the pitch and start playing.

It’s really scary the way people are dying in Europe and I will entreat everybody to take good care of himself”.

He advised Ghanaians to take the preventive measures very seriously to avoid the spread of the Covid-19.

“I will advise everybody back home, to adhere to the directives given out by the President Nana Akufo-Addo. Let’s all protect ourselves so that we can enjoy football when this is over”.

Boakye-Yiadom was selected among the 23-man squad for Ghana’s double header against Sudan for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which has been postponed.

Serbia has recorded a total of 188 cases with one person confirmed dead.
