NAPO refutes claims that he is arrogant; says he just speak his mind to teachers

The Ministry of Finance, headed by Honorable Ken Ofori-Atta, has granted financial clearance for three universities to begin recruiting their staff members.

The institutions are the University of Environmental and Sustainable Development(UESD), the SD Dombo University of Business & Development Studies, and the CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences.

This news was relayed earlier today, in an address given by Ghana’s Minister for Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh,during the swearing-in ceremony of the UESD’s interim council.

He said, “I am delighted to inform you that the Ministry of Finance has granted financial clearance for the UESD to recruit its staff members”.

“Two other newly-established universities, the SD Dombo University of Business & Development Studies, and the CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, have also been granted financial clearance to recruit staff”, Dr. Opoku Prempeh added.

The Minister, is however yet to inaugurate the class councils of the other two newly established educational institutions.

Forwarding on his address, he admitted that the current Covid-19 situation is likely to affect the delivery of teaching and learning over a long period, particularly with respect to technology.

In accordance, he urged that the interim council, be mindful of the opportunities and challenges that this pandemic presents, in their management of the university, and be innovative in their responses to these challenges.
