The President of the Ghana Golf Association (GGA), Mark Aggrey, says the association will be disappointed if government does not allow them to return to the course.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to the government placing a ban on all social gatherings including sporting activities.

The GGA has sent a proposal to government to consider and allow them return to the course to continue with the game. This was confirmed by the Minister of Information Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah.

In the proposal sent, the GGA has set down measures which will ensure all golfers adhere to the social distancing rules.

Speaking in an interview on Ghana’s number one Sports Station, with Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Wamputu Sports on Happy 98.9FM, Mark Aggrey said, “Our main reason is that the exercise is very important. Majority of golfers are the elderly who are vulnerable to this covid-19.

“We can use this as a form of exercise. For now, we can’t go to the gym. We will be disappointed if this is not approved”.

“We are sure government will heed to our proposal and allow us to play the game”, he added.
