Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South Constituency Hon Ahmed Arthur has been defeated by polling station women organizer in Kaneshie zone, Mrs. Darkoa Newman in the NPP primaries.
Mrs. Darkwa Newman led the contest by a total vote of four hundred and forty-four (444) while Hon. Ahmed Arthur and Nana Fredua Agyeman pulled three hundred and twenty-seven (327) votes and twenty-one (21) votes respectively.
Mrs. Newman is currently the polling station women organizer in Kaneshie zone and has also served as a polling agent for the party.
She is an old student of Wesley Girls Senior High School, Cape Coast and holds a Political Science Degree from the University of Ghana, Legon as well as a Master’s Degree in Programme and Project management from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Darkoa Newman holds professional certificates in project management and also risk management from the Project Management Institute, USA.
