Aspiring Member of Parliament for the La Dadekotopon constituency in the Greater Accra region, Joseph Gerald Tetteh Nyanyofio has kicked out incumbent Member of Parliament Vincent Odotei, with a winning gap of 167votes.

As reported by Happy98.9fm’s representative, DJ Advicer, in an interview with Samuel Eshun on the GMABC Election Camp, out of a total of 968 votes cast, with 3rejects, the incumbent MP, Vincent Sowah Odotei also known as Obama, received a total of 376votes, with Gerald leading by a whooping 167, making a total of 543votes. Comfort Adei Kotey only managed to secure a total of 46votes out of the populace.

“The Electoral Commission has made an official declaration of Gerald as the winner in this election and the incumbent, Odotei, is now with no option than to concede defeat”.

Supporters of Gerald, however, did not wait for the final results as they have been rejoicing since the revelation of the provisional results.

The NPP primaries to elect parliamentary aspirants is being held today. Voting has officially ended while counting of votes is still in progress.

“First of all, I wish to thank all the delegates, the executives, all our stakeholders in the party for this resounding victory. It’s a victory for the elephant. I am overwhelmed by the number of votes I polled but that’s also an indication of how hard we worked towards this”, the candidate elect said.

He further called on all other candidates to rally behind the NPP as one strong force, so that they can journey into December 2020 as a more united people.

Gerald will be contesting with NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the La Dadekotopon constituency, Ms. Rita Odoley Sowah, who is also the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the constituency.
