NPP Decides: Asenso Boakye's win in Bantama confirms president is recognized - Governance Expert

Governance expert, B.B Bingab has asserted that the win of Deputy Chief of Staff Francis Asenso Boakye in the Bantama constituency confirms that the people recognize the works of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The Deputy Chief of Staff who was elected as the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Bantama constituency for the 2020 elections defeated Daniel Okyem Aboagye with four hundred and fifty-two votes (452) with incumbent MP trailing with one hundred and twenty-two (122).

Speaking on the win, Bingab told Samuel Eshun on the GMABC Election Camp Series: “As you do know, he is a very close confidant of the president. For many years he worked for the president even when he was in opposition. His coming might suggest that the President is being recognized in as far as what he is doing is concerned. That is not to suggest that the others are not being recognized. As I said earlier, I think, for example, someone like Dr. Assibey Yeboah has been a pillar as far as the work of the parliamentary committee on finance is concerned”.

Delegates of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) started voting today at 7 am for their preferred Parliamentary candidates to represent them on the ticket of the NPP in the December 7 polls.
