NPP Decides: Regional breakdown of sitting MPs who lost primaries

In the just-ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries, some heavyweights of the Party in Parliament have surprisingly lost their party’s endorsement to continue serving in Parliament.

Some chairmen and vice chairmen have also lost their bids to represent their constituents in Parliament.

In all, 40 incumbent MPs were kicked out. Below is the regional breakdown of sitting MPs who lost.

GREATER ACCRA REGION:

  1. Nana Akua Owusu Afiriyie – Ablekuma North
  2. Vincent Sowah Odotei – La Dadekotopon
  3. Ahmed Arthur – Okaikwei South
  4. Kofi Brako -Tema Central
  5. Alhaji Habib Saad – Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro

ASHANTI REGION:

  1. Daniel Okyem Aboagye – Bantama Constituency
  2. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi – Ejisu Constituency
  3. Collins Owusu Amankwah – Manhyia North Constituency
  4. Ben Abdallah Banda – Offinso South Constituency
  5. Kennedy Kankam – Nhyiaeso Constituency
  6. Kwame Asafu-Adjei – Nsuta/Kwamang/Beposo
  7. Dr. Emmanuel Appiah-Kubi – Atwima Kwawoman
  8. Nana Marfo Amaniapong – Kwabre North
  9. Joseph Albert Quarm – Manso Nkwanta

CENTRAL REGION:

  1. Anthony Effah – Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa
  2. Abraham Odoom – Twifo Atti Morkwa
  3. Nana Amoako – Upper Denkyira East

WESTERN REGION:

  1. Joe Mensah – Kwesimintsim constituency
  2. Ato Panford-Shama Constituency
  3. Alex Agyeku-Mpohor Constituency
  4. Patrick Bogyako Kwame Saime- Amenfi East Constituency

UPPER EAST REGION:

  1. Joseph Kofi Adda – Navrongo Central Constituency

UPPER WEST REGION:

  1. Godfred Bayong Tangu-Wa
    East Constituency
  2. Patrick Adama-Sissala West
  3. Ridwan Abass-Sissala East

EASTERN REGION:

  1. Mark Assibey-Yeboah – New Juaben South Constituency
  2. William Agyapong Qauitoo – Akim Oda Constituency
  3. Seth Kwame Acheampong – Mpraeso constituency
  4. Ama Sey- Akwatia Constituency
  5. Opare Ansah – Suhum Constituency
  6. Kwabena Ohemeng- Tinyase Kade Constituency
  7. Robert Kwasi Amoah – Achiase Constituency
  8. Kwaku Darfour – Nkawkaw

NORTHERN REGION:

  1. Alhaji Wahab Wumbei – Tolon Constituency
  2. Charles Bintin – Saboba Constituency

BONO REGION:

  1. Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah – Berekum East Constituency
  2. Kwasi Sabi – Dormaa East Constituency

NORTH-EAST REGION:

  1. Dr. Sagre Bambangi – Walewale Constituency

WESTERN-NORTH REGION:
