Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako is pleading with management of the club to compensate them following the car crush the team suffered three years ago.

The Porcupine Warriors were en route to Kumasi from Accra after a Ghana Premier League game against Inter Allies in mid-week when their team bus crashed into a stationary truck close to Nkawkaw.

The accident led to a lot of injuries and claimed the life of deputy equipment officer Thomas Obeng Asare.

Three years on, players who suffered from that tragic incident are yet to hear from management or be compensated.

Isaac Amoako in an interview with Ghana’s number one Sports Station revealed that donations from clubs and people were taken at the time which the Executive Chairman of the club Dr Kwame Kyei promised to release all the donations to the players.

According to him, despite all the donations received that particular team is yet to receive a penny from the donations that were received at the time.

“Dr Kwame Kyei promised us that donations coming in will be given to us but after a year there was no response that is why we created a group to address our concerns”, he told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports on Happy 98.9FM.

“After three years we have not received any compensation from the accident and its worrying. We don’t have any intentions of taking the case to court to demand what is due us but we should get our compensation”, he added.

Happy Sports contacted former coach Steven Pollack who was part of the team involved in the accident three years ago.

According to him, he has never been able to run outside after that incident. Pollack was among those who sustained various degree of injuries. The British trainer was operated upon and according to him, the operation has affected his work.
