The Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) has indicated that it played no role in the burning of STC buses in Ho on Tuesday.

According to the group, all its various chapters and branches had no hand in the burning of the vehicles in Ho as reported by various media houses.

Happy 98.9 FM’s Volta Regional Correspondent, Evans Attah Akangla confirmed this in an interview with Samuel Eshun, host of the Happy Morning Show.

“A spokesperson for the HSGF has stated that they played no role in the incident and have reiterated that they will not resort to such violent acts to champion their cause”.

Evans furthered that no one has been arrested in connection with the incident and that has made the situation in the Volta Region quiet worrying.

On his authority, chiefs in the region have taken matters into their own hands and dispatched various Asafo companies to ensure peace and safeguard the lives of indigenes.

The reporter also indicated that people in the region were worried about the violence but are still going about their normal duties and are hopeful the government will resolve matters.

It was reported on Tuesday that members of the Volta Secessionist group attacked the STC yard in Ho and set their buses ablaze.

The incident, according to reports occurred at midnight on Monday, September 28, and involved members of the group firing gunshots before proceeding to beat up the drivers.

However, the group denying responsibility believes there are some political underpinnings perpetrating violence just to smear their peaceful campaign.
