The National Safety Campaign has raised concern over faulty traffic lights in Accra and other parts of the country.

According to them, about eighty per cent of traffic lights in the Greater Accra Region are faulty, which poses a serious threat to drivers and road users.

“Research we have conducted in the Greater Accra Region shows that over 80% of traffic lights are not functioning and if 80% of our traffic lights are not working, it means no traffic light is working entirely in the Region”.

In an interview with Happy Kaseɛbɔ, the President of NASACA, Asuku Daniel expressed his dissactisfaction with stationing police officers at the faulty Onyinase traffic light in front of the Odorgonno Senior High School on the Awoshie-Anyaa road after the students demonstrated against authorities.

He also lamented the inability of police MTTD and National Road Safety Authority to address these issues causing harm to Ghanaians.

He called on authorities to fix all faulty traffic lights in Accra and other parts of the country to avoid the loss of lives.
