The youth president of Ghana radio and host of Happy98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben, Okatakyie Afrifa has advised delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be swayed by money at the upcoming delegates conference.

According to him, delegates are normally influenced by money and other big wigs during the election of party leaders and this affects the quality of elected leaders.
He cried out to delegates, “Don’t vote for anyone who gives you money to vote for them. If Wontumi or anyone asks you to vote for someone vote against him or her.”

On his authority, some delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) are very cheap and allow money sway them during the elections. But it is time that trend changed. He said, ” We’re very cheap in this country. 500 and 1000 cedis influence our votes all the time but it’s time for a civil revolution.”

The outspoken broadcaster urged delegates of all parties to challenge the status quo and become independent voices for Ghana to develop.

“We need to change our status quo. We should have independent voices in this country when it comes to elections. A civil revolution has to come and it has to start with our thumb, he declared.”

The governing New Patriotic Party is set to hold its parliamentary and presidential primaries on April 25, 2020.
