Management of Afro Arab Group of Companies led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alhaji Abdul Salamu Amadu, has commissioned an ultra-modern sports complex, Emirates Arena to serve the sporting needs of residents in Nima and its environs.
The Arena, located in the heart of Nima, is complete with impressive dressing rooms located underground the pitch, an electronic scoreboard, three giant screens, a business centre, floodlights, a two-tier all-seater stand and a VVIP section protected by glass.
Nigeria and Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu headlined a number of high-profile names to grace the event with their presence. They include the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Giovanni Favilli, GFA Presidential hopefuls, George Afriyie and Lawyer George Ankoma Mensah, Black Stars assistant coach,Ibrahim Tanko ,former Black stars players,Derrick Boateng,Abubakari Damba and a host of others.
The facility is now open to the general public and it is expected to be a centre for sports activities and recreation for the people of Nima, New Town, Maamobi, Kokomlemle and its environs.
