The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has alleged that Mumuni Rufai, the personal aide to Alhaji Hamza Faruk, Executive Secretary of the Hajj Board under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was caught with over 100 thumb-printed ballot papers.

The incident he noted reportedly occurred at the Aningazanga JSS Polling Station in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, December 7, Sammy Gyamfi claimed that Mumuni Rufai was in a queue waiting to vote when NDC polling agents noticed suspicious behavior. They detected that he had concealed foreign materials in the “jallabia” he was wearing.

Upon requesting police intervention, he noted a search was conducted, and over 100 ballot papers, allegedly pre-thumb-printed for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, were discovered.
He revealed that Rufai was subsequently arrested and taken to the regional police headquarters for further investigation.
